From this page, you can access the source code for the Treasure Hoard Generator's first Windows version. Before you do, however, please take the time to read this. Thank you.

You will need to have the install zip file for the treasure hoard generator in order to get the .SBT files that the program uses. These .SBT files contain the data needed to create treasures.

In this version of the source code, there is a small bug in the way that values are determined such that when you run the program and create a hoard, the value always comes up as "worthless." This is in addition to the known bugs mentioned on the main Treasure Hoard Generator page.

Anyone who looks at this program will SCREAM about the variable names I used, and call me an idiot. I must tell you before you do this, however, that the variable names are a direct result of having to dis- compile the executable code. [When you compile a program, the variable names become tokens, and the original variable names are no longer recoverable.] The reason for this was that the original source code was lost in a hard drive crash many years ago. Fortunately, the program was written in Visual Basic 3.0, which is easily reverse-engineered back to source code from the .EXE. Therefore, please try to be patient when you see "For L00201 = 1 to 20"

It is my hope that the treasure hoard generator will always be improved upon. As such, here is what I would like to do: If you make program changes to fix bugs, improve performance, improve flexibility or generally add functionality to the program from this source code, please let me know what you have changed and how you changed it. I will increment the version number and make the new source code available as the new official version.

If you wish to work on the THG, please use Visual Basic version 6.
