Announcement: Organize! has been rated at 4 stars by Ziff-Davis's software library! Organize! got it's 4-star rating at version 1.3.2. Version 1.4.0 is available now.
Organize! is a utility program that you can use to manage documents, files and applications for a particular topic. When the program opens, you are presented with 15 customizable buttons, a text field for notes and a tree view whose items you can associate with any file on your computer.
Once the buttons and tree view are programmed, you can save the setup under a topic name, and recall that topic when you want. Clicking a button will launch the document, file or application that you have associated with that button. Double-clicking an item in the tree view will launch the document, file or application you have associated with that item in the tree. To help you quickly find the button you are looking for, you can add a label or a picture to the buttons, too.
On the tree, you can create any number of folders and subfolders, and within the folders, you can add items corresponding with items on your hard drive. This allows you to organize your files logically without moving them on the hard drive. Perhaps there is a file that you would use for several different topics. Simply include it several times!
Since you can save the setup under a name, you can have a setup for face-to-face gaming, one for play-by-e-mail campaigns, or even one for work! This allows you to distribute a set of files with their own Organize! setup, such as a distributed troubleshooting guide.
Organize! is a flexible tool that helps you track your files, and use them more effectively, instead of forgetting that you have them on your hard drive somewhere.
