From: Paul, Brett While you wonder about the differences between Medizar's descriptions and what appears on the coins, Steve crosses the floor of his shop to open the door. Most of you hide. Jeff stands in the middle of the room, pretending to be browsing. Steve unlocks and opens the door, to reveal several lawmen, their swords drawn. You hear them speaking quickly, with hostile attitudes and gestures, and watch Steve back away from them slowly as he replies. The lawmen enter the shop and form a semi-circle in front of Steve. There are five of them in all. Jeff is standing, staring at them, catching their attention. One of the lawmen points to him with his sword, then orders him, "Do, raus!" He points his sword to the door. Jeff understands his meaning, and leaves the store, looking back only briefly. The questioning of Steve continues. Occasionally, the word "mord" is heard, something you have grown familiar with recently. You know it means "murder." The hostile tone of the lawmen subsides, as an agreement is apparently made between the sides. Steve seems to be agreeing with them on something, you are not sure what. One of the lawmen, the one who has done most of the talking, produces a piece of rope from his clothing, and hands it to another, the one to his right. The other ties Steve's hands behind his back. When he turns Steve back around to face them, he punches Steve in the stomach, causing Steve to double over. The younger Dana (I'll call her Lynn so you don't get confused) runs out from behind her hiding place and launches herself at the lawman full-force. She hits him squarely with her feet, knocking him down into a pile of full burlap bags. Lynn lands on the floor face-down. Almost instantly, she is back on her feet. Before the others can react to what she did, she spins extremely quickly, knocking the legs out from another of the lawmen (the other one on the right of the one who did all the talking). The man who did all the talking swings his sword in a backhand motion directly at her head. In reaction, Lynn ducks her head. She more than ducks her head. She rolls forward to the left of the man, coming up to face his back. At this time, Steve is back on his feet, and Lynn tries to move towards the door with him. The way is blocked by the other so-called lawmen. [Feel free to react now if you wish to do something to help. Two of the lawmen are on the ground, about to get up (one of which is holding his chest and groaning in pain). The main talker is right next to Lynn and Steve, and the other two are blocking the door. That puts Lynn and Steve almost between the two groups of lawmen.] [OOC: I realize that several questions went unanswered. Steve intended to answer them after he answered the door. I'll keep them in mind, pending the outcome of this post.] - Brett ---------- From: gdinkelm@ccs.lmco.com[SMTP:gdinkelm@ccs.lmco.com] Hmmm, think it would be possible to play geometry games and either move the door so that Lynn and Steve have a clean shot? Or maybe just move them to the door? I'm likely to get angry now. We know (or believe) that Medizar framed Steve for the murder that we think he's being imprisoned for. Maybe a wall of air between Steve and Lynn and the lawmen that would help them escape, but the lawmen are between them and the door. :( Greg ---------- From: Adequis[SMTP:Adequis@mindspring.com] "Stop this he's innocent!" I yell as I charge into the fray. I will attempt to knock out one of the guard with my fist in nothing else. (in other words if I can pick up something metal or glass and effective in hitting someone with it, I will, I would guess I could pick up something slightly off balancing because I should have surprise coming from behind. (I think I am coming from behind.) Otherwise I will just attempt to hit the guy. If he turns around I will attempt to stay inside sword distance and either grapple or keep hitting him. ---------- From: Animalz[SMTP:dharrod@mindspring.com] I stare in awe at the quick moves of my younger self, thinking (maybe even saying under my breath) "She moves like a cat! That's certainly not something I could do at that age. But maybe I can do something like it now..." Concentrating on images of my cats rolling and wrestling and kicking and biting, chasing each other all over the house, I try to summon my new-found ability to mimic animal behavior and try to go afte the nearest lawman that looks dangerous (any of the men with a sword in hand). I'll try to launch myself at him (at his back if possible) and take him down to the floor, pinning him there until someone can tie him up or something. If he insists on trying to get up, I'll try to hold him down (on second thought, I probably won't do the biting thing :) by using that magical ability of cats to manipulate gravity and make myself heavier. :) If that doesn't work, I'll bat his head around with my "paws", or bat at his arm/sword to get it away from him. Maybe a rabbit kick or two with my feet. (This could be fun. :) Is the door still open or did Jeff close it on his way out? I hope no one else tries to come in while we're involved in this brawl. And who was that person seen walking away around the corner? I hope he doesn't go summon help.... at least not help for the lawmen. Dana ---------- From: Marshall T. I was planning on just standing by and seeing what happened, but since most of the groups seems to be trying to help "Lynn" and Steve... I'll concentrate on creating a sharp, small, hard, directed wind and launching it at a likely lawman. I'm aiming for the same effect the _Kung Fu_'s "Pushing the Wind." (At least, that's what I think it was called.) If the lawmen are in a tight enough group, I'll try to knock a number of them over at the same time, but I don't want to risk hitting any allies. (BTW, were any of her martial arts strikes "unnaturally" fast?) Thinking quickly he decides not to get directly involved. Instead he focuses on the lawman that did the talking (which is the one swinging the sword, correct?). He tries to somehow mentally "link" with that lawman and then send overwhelming sensations of confusion and indecision into the man's head. (OOC: my intent is to have him just stand there, so confused he can't make a decision about what to do.) Saif ---------- From: gdinkelm@ccs.lmco.com[SMTP:gdinkelm@ccs.lmco.com] I whisper, "At least we know that the lawmen don't understand English. We should be able to get some type of advantage from that. "We can't just let Steve get jailed for Medizar's crime." Greg ---------- From: Paul, Brett To: Saif When you connected to the lawman, you clearly heard Medizar's name rumbling around in his head. I considered saying something now, but I don't want to let on to these "lawmen" about our powers (other than what they have seen). Saif
