From: Paul, Brett Subject: Bamf [26] A day on the town Night passes without event, and morning comes. You are able to find a meal in the inn where you stayed, though it isn't much of a meal. Some eggs, bread, and something trying to pass itself off as milk, but not doing a very good job (almost sour and definitely warm). But it was nice to sleep in an actual bed. After eating, you notice a small collection of people beginning to gather near the town hall. By the time you get outside and over to the town hall (assuming you go that way), you see that the crowd has swelled somewhat, perhaps a couple dozen people here, and that someone on the stairs of the town hall is speaking to them from behind some sort of podium. All is in German, so you are not sure what is being said. On the edge of the crowd, you see Greg, Brady and Jeff, apparently there to figure out what is going on as much as the rest of the people (though with less of a chance, since they don't speak the language). The town is open to the reunited group. Let me know where you want to go and for what (list a couple choices, and I'll run through them at one time). - Brett ---------- From: Paul, Brett Subject: Bamf [26] A day on the town Night passes without event, and the guard (a different one from the previous night) brings you some eggs and bread for breakfast, and some water to drink. After eating, he returns to take the trays from the meal. He also opens Brady's cell and allows him to go free. After eating, you walk outside to see a small group gathering near the town hall. A man is standing there behind a podium, waiting for others to arrive. After a moment or two, he begins speaking to the group. After a few minutes of his speech, you notice Dana, John, Marshall and Saif approaching. The town is open to you all. At any rate, we weren't frozen in place this time like before, there were no presaging footsteps. He said 'I believe you'll help me now, won't you. You have no choice.' Well, actually he didn't quite finish choice, as we were all simultaneously trying to strangle him. I thought Brady was going to break through the bars. The guard seemed frightened. Called him a devil. Understood the term nosferatu--not much else. >Greg: "You didn't happen to find a library or anything, did you?" > >Dana: No, not yet. In addition to possibly having another textbook. Right now I'm pretty sure I could shrink or enlarge someone. Still trying to find a way to change one of our features so that we'd fit into the crowd a little better. >Dana: Maybe if we go into a crowded bar and ask real loud if anyone speaks > English (or French or whatever language we can understand), we might find > someone we can communicate with. I am looking for a church. I would also like to find a possible armorer or the such. If I am all paladin like and amdgoing to keep getting the urges to slam into metal bars (that hurt...) I might want to protect my shrinking brain with thick armor... Okay seriously though, it would be nice to get better prepared for combat and the such. I think we need money. I wonder.... what could we sell or how could we get money (without first sending ourselves back to jail...) Maybe there is a town hall, or > center where you can pick up odds jobs or other such none-sense Okay, so we're looking for a general store, a church and armourer, and some kind of place of learning. I'll sacrifice the place of learning for the church. Priests are usually well educated. An armourer might be difficult to come by; do you think a blacksmith would work, Brady? After all, I made that spike-bush and seemed to have some effect on that sword. We may not need an armourer. Another point about a university -- there might be books in other languages there, perhaps more likely there than at a church/seminary/monastery. However, at one of these latter places, we might find something written in the local equivalent of Latin. Did Greg, Brady, and Jeff get the map that the rest of us got? A church and general store are indicated on it, but no armourer/blacksmith or school of any kind. I'll be thinking up armour-related related poetry (and I don't mean hot dogs!) in the meantime... However, the map was only the area of the town around where you were. I'll expand it since you have the day to explore (though since location may be irrelevant at this point, I'll just list the important places - the places that aren't just dwellings. That'll mean the list will get out earlier.). - Brett ---------- From: Adequis@aol.com[SMTP:Adequis@aol.com] Subject: Re: Bamf [26] Update Well, a church is a must for me... but blacksmith whatever, transmute metal, cool. I really don't care how we obtain armor and weapons, but they would be cool. (I hate being at more of a disadvantage then we have to be.) And institute of higher learning I still think would be a good idea. Priests and Students both tend to be open minded so we might be received better. Brady ---------- From: Marshall T. I'll just stick with Greg and search for an institute of higher learning. Heck, since I understand a little Latin, I might even prove useful. One thing, though, that I specificly want to find is some type of history. That is, assuming we can get some kind of communication going. If I can find a few histories, I'll look for stuff on Mezidar, undead, and people popping in from alternate universes. Also assuming we can find a source of information, I'd like to try to find out more about our powers. (Mr. GM, Do I still have my backpack? I can't seem to remember whether or not it got left behind.) Marshall T. "Apparently ESP is more demanding than I thought. Right now I'm going to concentrate more on using my psionics internally rather than externally."
